Gesigneerd \u201c<em>par Louis Bleuler a Schafhouse<\/em>\u201d met pen en inkt onder de voorstelling en genummerd \u201c75\u201d.\u00a0 Afm. 31,7 x 47,4 cm.<\/p>\n<p>We zien Arnhem in oostelijke richting met rechts de Rijn en in het midden de <a href=\"https:\/\/eusebius.nl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eusebiuskerk<\/a>, links daarvan de <a href=\"https:\/\/nl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sint-Walburgiskerk_(Arnhem)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sint-Walburgiskerk<\/a>. De kunstenaar neemt het hier en daar niet zo nauw met de werkelijkheid. Zo zijn de toren van de Eusebiuskerk en het schip van de Sint-Walburgis gefantaseerd, ook de vele molenwieken kloppen vermoedelijk niet. Met \u201c<em>Bommel<\/em>\u201d wordt <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kasteeldoornenburg.nl\/geschiedenis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">slot Doornenburg<\/a> op de achtergrond bedoeld, in die tijd bewoond door de familie Van Bemmel.<\/p>\n<p>Na de Franse tijd, <a href=\"https:\/\/nl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Verenigd_Koninkrijk_der_Nederlanden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">aan het begin van de negentiende eeuw<\/a> kwam Arnhem wegens het gunstige belastingklimaat in de belangstelling te staan van de gegoede burgerij uit het westen van Nederland. De nieuwe bewoners die uit Den Haag en Amsterdam naar Arnhem waren gekomen brachten een belangrijke stimulans in het sociale en culturele leven. Arnhem groeide snel en veel huizen uit die tijd getuigen nu nog van de rijkdom van de nieuwe burgerij.<\/p>\n<p>Louis Bleuler (1792 -1850) wordt gerekend tot de beste Zwitserse landschapschilders van zijn tijd. Hij studeerde in Parijs, maar betrok later kasteel Laufen (CH) naast de Rheinfall, Europa\u2019s\u00a0 grootste waterval. De Rijn vormde een grote bron van inspiratie, hetgeen resulteerde in een schitterende serie van 80 gravures met gezichten op steden en landschappen \u201c<em>Der Rhein von den Quellen bis zur M\u00fcndung<\/em>\u201d. Met deze gouache, een ontwerp voor plaat nr. 75, bevinden we ons in het gebied van de monding van de Rijn. Dit boekwerk verscheen in 1826 en was in eerste instantie bedoeld als souvenir voor de <a href=\"https:\/\/nl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Grand_tour\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Grand Tourist<\/a>, de (veelal Engelse) elite die zich een toeristische reis langs de Rijn kon veroorloven, maar de <a href=\"https:\/\/nl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Keizer_Frans_II\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">keizer van Oostenrijk<\/a> en <a href=\"https:\/\/nl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Marie_Am%C3%A9lie_van_Bourbon-Sicili%C3%AB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Marie Am\u00e9lie van Sicili\u00eb<\/a> behoorden tot Bleuler\u2019s eerste en belangrijkste afnemers.<\/p>\n<p>Prijs: Euro 2.750,- (incl. lijst)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GEZICHT OP ARNHEM Vue de la ville d\u2019Arnheim vers Bommel\u201d Gouache op gekleurd papier vervaardigd door Louis Bleuler ca. 1825.
