Coloured by a later hand. Size (plate two soldiers): 27 x 27,5 cm (frame: 48 x 48,5 cm.). Size (plate four soldiers): 27 x 56,5 cm (frame: 48 x 76 cm.).<\/p>\n<p>The French Royal Army (French: \u201c<em>Arm\u00e9e Royale Fran\u00e7aise\u201d<\/em>) serving from the mid-17<sup>th<\/sup> century until July 1830 was a model for the new regimental system that was to be imitated throughout Europe.
