Gehouden te Leeuwarden in het zaailand op de 24 julij 1830<\/strong>.&#8221; Lithografie vervaardigd door <strong>F. W. Wolters<\/strong> naar een tekening van <strong>Jan Hendrik Matthijsen<\/strong> uit <strong>1831<\/strong>. Later met de hand gekleurd. Afm. (incl. tekst): 55 x 61 cm.<\/p>\n<p>Vanaf 1823 tot 1865 was het Zaailand in Leeuwarden het decor van menige harddraverij. Hoogtepunt was de draverij om \u201ceene fraaie, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ndrmuseum.nl\/HtmlHistDiversen\/GoudenZweep.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">met goud gemonteerde zweep<\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Het bijzondere aan de op deze lithografie vastgelegde editie was dat koning <a href=\"https:\/\/nl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Willem_I_der_Nederlanden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Willem I<\/a> te gast was, in gezelschap van zijn <a href=\"https:\/\/nl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Willem_II_der_Nederlanden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">zoon<\/a>, de Held van Waterloo, en zijn kleinzoon, de latere koning <a href=\"https:\/\/nl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Willem_III_der_Nederlanden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Willem III<\/a>. De drie Nassaus bevinden zich op het balkon van het Heeren Logement, het hoge gebouw rechts van het midden.<\/p>\n<p>Bij kortebaandraverij draafden de paarden telkens twee aan twee tegen elkaar over een recht stuk weg van ongeveer 300 meter. Aan de bereden draverij van 1830 deden \u201ctwee dozijn van de vermaardste harddravers\u201d mee. Winnaar dat jaar was ene Klaas Andries Siccama uit Dantumawoude, vooraan op de voorstelling zwaaiend met zijn hoed.
