Uitgegeven in <strong>1855<\/strong> te Amsterdam door C.A. Spin als deel van \u201c<em>Gezigten in de Omstreken van &#8216;s Gravenhage en Leyden<\/em>\u201d. Later met de hand gekleurd. Afm. (incl. tekst) 19 x 24,5 cm.<\/p>\n<p>We zien de spoorbrug over de Oude Rijn, ter hoogte van uitspanning de Vink, van de &#8216;Oude Lijn&#8217; tussen Leiden en Den Haag, aangelegd in 1843.<\/p>\n<p>De Vink, in de loop der tijd ook wel genoemd Thee- en Speeltuin de Vink, De Groote Vink, of De Oude Vink was vanaf 1763 een thee- en \u2018speeltuin\u2019 (voor &#8216;grote mensen&#8217;). Het speeltuinterrein aan de Rijn was ongeveer 200 jaar een speelplaats met bootjes, schommels, draaimolens en waterfietsen. Veel Leidse families gingen naar de speeltuinen toe als uitstapje of voor ontspanning. Vooral in de wintermaanden als er ijs op de Rijn lag, was het er druk.
