Hier in een tweede staat uitgegeven in <strong>1732<\/strong>. Later met de hand gekleurd. Afm. 57 x 22,5 cm.<\/p>\n<p>Afgebeeld is een gedeelte van Kennemerland vanaf Bakkum in het noorden tot de grens met Heemstede in het zuiden en van de Noordzee en de duinen in het westen tot de lijn Uitgeest-Spaarndam in het oosten. We zien ook de \u201conbemuurde stad Beverwijk, en de hoofdstad Haarlem, de bijzondere dorpen en alle aanzienlijke edele lusthoven en edele huizen met hun namen voorkomen. Tevens zijn de bijzondere wegen en waterlopen afgebeeld.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Het Kennemerland werd in de 18e eeuw een geliefde verblijfplaats voor welgestelde Amsterdammers, die er hun buitenplaatsen lieten aanleggen. De oorsprong hiervan lag vaak in het feit dat rijke kooplieden in de 17e eeuw de agrarische hofsteden in deze streek zagen als een veiligere geldbelegging dan meer onzekere beleggingen zoals de zeevaart of investeringen in overzeese gebieden.
