Uitgegeven in <strong>1837-1844<\/strong> als deel van \u201c<em>Gezigten in de omstreken van Haarlem<\/em>\u201d. Later met de hand gekleurd. Afm. (incl. tekst) 19 x 23,5 cm.<\/p>\n<p>Het 17e-eeuwse kasteel Berkenrode in Heemstede brandde in de nacht van 4 op 5 mei 1747 af door onvoorzichtigheid van het personeel nadat het met kaarsen en vetpotjes was ge\u00efllumineerd ter ere van de verheffing van <a href=\"https:\/\/nl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Willem_IV_van_Oranje-Nassau\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">prins Willem IV<\/a> tot erfstadhouder. De toenmalige eigenaar, ambachtsheer <a href=\"https:\/\/nl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mattheus_Lestevenon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mattheus Lestevenon<\/a> liet het weer opbouwen en voegde in 1762 het huis en de gronden van huis Westerduin bij Berkenrode.<\/p>\n<p>Op 29 oktober 1797 verkochten Mattheus\u2019 kinderen het goed aan <a href=\"https:\/\/nl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jan_Pieter_van_Wickevoort_Crommelin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jan Pieter van Wickevoort Crommelin<\/a>. Meteen na de aankoop liet hij het huis afbreken en vestigde zich op het aangrenzende Westerduin, dat als hoofdhuis van Berkenrode ging fungeren (en vanaf dat moment ook huis Berkenrode werd genoemd).<\/p>\n<p>(Huis Berkenrode werd vanaf 1933 bewoond door de politicus <a title=\"Jan Bomans\" href=\"https:\/\/nl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jan_Bomans\">Jan Bomans<\/a>, de vader van de Nederlandse schrijver <a title=\"Godfried Bomans\" href=\"https:\/\/nl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Godfried_Bomans\">Godfried Bomans<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>Prijs: Euro 195,-<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cBerkenrode uit de Overplaats\u201d, lithografie vervaardigd door Hilmar Johannes Backer naar een tekening van Petrus Josephus Lutgers.
