Maurice R\u00e9alier-Dumas<\/a> embraced the Impressionists at a young age, especially Pierre-Auguste Renoir<\/a> but he embraced Renoir’s model, Louise Papillon, even more; they became lovers. His frescoes adorned the Maison Fournaise<\/a>, the famous restaurant of Louise’s father.<\/p>\n

Remarkably, the first phase of R\u00e9alier-Dumas’ career, as a poster artist, radically departed from Impressionism: a flat, Classical purity combined with Byzantine mosaic is evidenced here for Mumm’s Champagne from Reims.
