Elegantes Paar beim Empfang<\/em><\/strong>. <\/em>Ontwerptekening met gouache en aquarel van de hand van Ferdinand G\u00f6tz<\/strong> (1874 – 1936) vervaardigd voor het tijdschrift Fliegende Bl\u00e4tter<\/a><\/em> van 27 oktober 1932<\/strong><\/a>. Gesigneerd rechtsonder. Afm. (voorstelling) ca. 30,4 x 18,7 cm.<\/p>\n

Een mondain tafereel uit het interbellum: een stijlvol koppel arriveert bij een ontvangst. De heer verschijnt in rokkostuum met vlinderdas, hoge hoed, wandelstok en handschoenen. De dame draagt een parelketting en slank vallende avondjurk met diep uitgesneden rug, typerend voor de moderne mode van begin jaren 1930. In haar arm houdt zij een imposant boeket bloemen, zojuist in ontvangst genomen. Met elegante gebaren zet zij een stap naar binnen, ze heeft haar handschoenen uitgetrokken.<\/p>\n

De sc\u00e8ne krijgt een satirische draai door het bijschrift in Fliegende Bl\u00e4tter<\/em>. De heer maakt een slechte grap:<\/p>\n

\u201eGn\u00e4diges Fr\u00e4ulein haben die Ohren gl\u00fccklicherweise etwas durch die Haare gesch\u00fctzt; wie ich erfahre, soll heute Abend noch eine Heulsirene auf uns losgelassen werden.<\/em>\u201c [Waarde juffrouw, uw oren zijn gelukkig enigszins door uw haar beschermd; want zoals ik hoor, zal er vanavond nog een loeiende sirene op ons worden losgelaten.] Waarop zij antwoordt: \u201eIch bin allerdings gebeten worden, ein paar Schubertlieder zu singen.<\/em>\u201c [Ik ben trouwens verzocht een paar Schubert-liederen te zingen.]\n

Fliegende Bl\u00e4tter<\/em> <\/a>was bedoeld voor de Duitse bourgeoisie. Het wordt beschouwd als het compendium van de satire van de eind 19de-eeuw tot begin 20ste-eeuw. Met onderhoudende, spottende en humoristische karikaturen en beeldverhalen werden bijna alle beroepen, sociale klassen en levenssferen onder de loep genomen.<\/p>\n
