Kopergravure vervaardigd door <strong>Jeremias Wolff<\/strong> naar een ontwerp van <strong>Friedrich Bernhard Werner<\/strong> uitgegeven door <strong>Johann Friederich Probst<\/strong> rond 1760, later met de hand gekleurd. afm (prent) 35 x 102 cm, met onder het stadsprofiel een legenda met landmarks.<\/p>\n<p>Aan het einde van de zeventiende eeuw verloor de Republiek der Zeven Verenigde Nederlanden langzamerhand haar rol als economische supermogendheid aan Engeland. In die tijd werden maar weinig Nederlandse stadsgezichten gemaakt. Het waren de buitenlandse uitgeverijen die toen stad (en provincie) vastlegden. Het Beierse Augsburg was met een aantal zeer actieve uitgeverijen &#8220;<em>Europas Bilderfabrik<\/em>&#8220;. De belangrijkste uitgeverij aldaar was die van<a href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jeremias_Wolff\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Jeremias Wolff<\/a> (1663-1774) wiens zaak werd overgenomen door zijn schoonzoon Johann Balthasar Probst, vervolgens overging in de handen van Georg Bathasar Probst en later weer in handen kwam van diens zonen Georg Balthasar Probst II en <a href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Johann_Friedrich_Probst_(Kupferstecher)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Johann Friedrich Probst<\/a>. Tot 1802 blijft het bedrijf in handen van de familie Probst. De firma modelleerde ook Nederlandse stadsgezichten naar Beiers voorbeeld, waarin de kerktorens uivormige bekroningen kregen.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Friedrich_Bernhard_Werner\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Friedrich Bernhard Werner<\/a> (1690-1776) had een kleurrijke loopbaan voordat hij als freelance kunstenaar voor de uitgeverijen van Augsburg ging werken. Zo was hij ondermeer soldaat, &#8216;Wunderdoktor&#8217;, vertaler van opera&#8217;s en landmeter. Hij reisde veel door Polen, Pruisen, Pommern, Duitsland, Itali\u00eb, Frankrijk en Nederland om ontwerpen te maken voor zijn prenten van steden, kerken, paleizen en kastelen.<\/p>\n<p>prijs: Euro 2.850,-<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;ROTTERDAM&#8220;\u009d.
