Afm. (lijst) 55 x 75 cm.<\/p>\n<p>Mode kwam in de <b>jaren 1920-1930 <\/b>binnen handbereik van het grote publiek, men ging naar de bioscoop en zag films waar de nieuwste mode werd gedragen. Betoverd door het nieuwe en het modieuze wilden vrouwen diezelfde <i>looks<\/i>: kleding, haar en make-up. Na de rechte lijnen van de 1920er-jaren werd het deftiger, <i>ladylike<\/i>. Afgeronde bustes, getailleerde modellen en zachter en mooier haar omdat de manier van krullen verbeterde. Kleding was vrouwelijk: lieflijk en netjes overdag, &#8217;s avonds glamorous.<\/p>\n<p>Modeontwerper Giovanni Guida verhuisde van het platteland naar Rome in 1913, waar hij het jaar er op onder het pseudoniem John deel nam aan de <i>Esposizione sulla Moda <\/i>georganiseerd door de <i>Circolo degli Artisti<\/i>. Na de eerste wereldoorlog verbleef Guida een drietal jaren in Parijs om in de 1920er jaren naar Rome terug te keren. Daar werkte hij &#8211; vrijwel exclusief &#8211; voor de winkelketen <i>Coen<\/i>. Hij maakte er onder andere modeontwerpen bij de stoffen die in de winkels te koop waren.
