Women wore huge hats trimmed with large beautiful feathers and wide ribbons. Art Nouveau style had a significant impact on fashion, with its flowing lines, organic motifs, and delicate embellishments.

Painter and graphic artist Leo Rauth (1884-1913) was a student at the art academies of Leipzig, Karlsruhe, Berlin, and Munich (under Franz von Stuck), and worked in Leipzig from 1909 onwards. Rauth painted portraits, nudes, carnival scenes, designed stage sets (“Les petits riens“), posters, and applied graphics.
